🚨 Join the Crooked Road Clay Team for Tryouts! 🚨

Are you ready to take your clay target shooting to the next level? The Crooked Road Clay Team is hosting tryouts for our upcoming season, and we’re looking for motivated youth athletes who are passionate about shooting sports and eager to grow in skill, safety, and sportsmanship.

🗓 Tryout Date & Time:
3:00 PM – 5:00 PM
Shooter appointments will be grouped by experience level (see below).

💵 Cost:
$7 per round (25 clays)
Payment accepted via cash or card at sign-in (Coach Betsy). Card transactions could incur a 3.5% fee.

🔥 Tryout Schedule by Experience Level

Each session is limited to 5 shooters per time slot to ensure safety and allow for hands-on coaching and evaluation.

• Advanced Shooters: 3:00 PM – 3:30 PM
  Confident and safe when loading/unloading firearms without assistance. Demonstrates strong range awareness, consistent shooting mechanics, and clear understanding of firearm safety.

• Intermediate Shooters: 3:30 PM – 4:00 PM
  Familiar with shotgun operation and general range rules. Can load and shoot with minimal assistance but may still be developing consistency in form and target tracking.

• Beginner-Intermediate Shooters: 4:00 PM – 4:30 PM
  Some previous experience shooting under supervision. May need occasional guidance with loading/unloading and stance. Learning to apply safety principles independently.

• Beginner Shooters: 4:30 PM – 5:00 PM
  New or fairly new to clay target shooting. Will require basic instruction in safety, stance, operation, and target engagement. Must demonstrate willingness to learn and listen carefully.

🎯 Important Notes:

• All participants must arrive 10–15 minutes before their scheduled time to check in.

• Shooters must bring their own shotgun and eye/ear protection.

• A parent or guardian must be present during the tryout for youth participants under 18.

• All shooters are expected to follow range rules and safety protocols at all times.

• Tryouts are open to homeschooled students and students from non-affiliated schools in surrounding areas.
